Region Represented: Avon sub-region Reason for joining the ACC: Opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of our natural resources for future generations. Phone: (08) 9690 2250, (08) 6364 3609 After living, working and raising a family in suburban Woodlands, moved back to where our heart was - the country. After 17 years living in Toodyay, my wife and I almost qualify as locals, and call the Avon home. Region Represented: Lockhart sub-region Reson for Joining the ACC: I really wanted to spread the interest of intergrated tree cropping getting across to the wider NRM community. Phone: (08) 9642 6031 I was encouraged to nominate for a place on ACC due to our farm enterprise being increasingly in farm forestry, and also my being the current Chair of Avongro. I'm firmly of the view that much of the land in the Avon Catchment that has difficulty earning it's way with grain cropping, could be profitable in emerging tree farming pursuits. I've lived and farmed at East Brookton all my life. The homestead is adjacent to the Yenyenning Lakes Nature Reserve and as part of the Yenyenning Lakes Management Committee I was involved in reversing the trend of water and land degradation in that Reserve. Basically, as time has progressed, I’ve become a strong believer in the principle of the Triple Bottom Line. Our financial, social and environmental wealth will only be secured by landowners working with all other stakeholders to create a place where we want to live. |

Region Represented: Avon sub-region Reason for Joining the ACC: I have a lifelong interest in landcare. I bought a property in Pingelly in 1966 which was in a neglected state, I took the challenge to recover it. With the aid of a landcare technician from DAFWA in Narrogin we established a plan involving reclamation of badly eroded, contour banking to control run off and tree planting in areas where necesary. Key Interest Area: Turning a neglected farm into a property I am proud of Phone: (08) 9386 4583 I was born in Lake Grace. After schooling I helped develop a property at Arthur River. Over the years I have worked with a stock firm, owned my own business and share farmed at Newdegate, until purchasing the farm at Pingelly. I am now retired in Perth and my son runs the farm. I still have a keen interest in regional development and supporting natural resource management |
